DO WE CARE?
Assalamu'alaikum..
Although this disaster already happened few weeks ago, but we still have to concern about this issue as Muslims. Do we care about these 2 disasters?
1) Nargis cyclone in Myanmar
- Cyclone Nargis made landfall on May 5, 2008
- Nargis is the first tropical cyclone of the North Indian Ocean 2008 season
- Cyclone Nargis had sustained winds of 130 mph and gusts of 150-160 mph, which is the equivalent of a strong Category 3 or minimal Category 4 hurricane
- Although very strong winds were responsible for much of the damage, flooding and mudslides were also possible due to heavy rainfall
- Myanmar's social welfare minister told reporters on May 5 that 95 percent of the homes in Bogalay had been destroyed
- The destruction of lives and property was blamed on the 12 foot (3.6 meter) high storm surge that accompanied Cyclone Nargis²
- Official death toll exceeds 78,000 and 56,000 missing, according to state media
- (May 21, 2008) From the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs: 77,738 dead; 55,917 missing; 150,000 people displaced in 120 temporary settlements; 2.4 million people severely affected
- (May 23, 2008) 1,900 square miles of land remain under water

2) Earthquake in China
On Monday, May 12, a major earthquake, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale, jolted southwestern China's Sichuan Province. Hundreds of aftershocks followed in the same area. The quake destroyed thousands buildings in the area, as well as infrastructure like communication networks and electrical towers.
Thousands of people died or are missing, and more than 270,000 were injured. The earthquake left an estimated five million people homeless. Many schools were destroyed, including one that had at least 900 students in it. This earthquake is the worst natural disaster to hit China in 30 years.

SIAPA ALLAH DI HATI KITA??
Assalamu'alaikum..
This is an entry based on the talk last Wednesday. The talk was delivered by Ustaz Sanusi Idris, the 3rd imam of Masjid Asy-Syakirin, KLCC and it was delivered in Malay. So, this entry totally in Malay. Insya Allah we will provide soon in english version =)SIAPA ALLAH DI HATI KITA??
Bila soalan ini ditujukan kepada kita, apa yang mampu kita jawab? Adakah ALLAH dekat dan rapat dengan kita? Adakah kita sentiasa bergantung harap dan mengingatiNYA setiap masa?
Untuk menjawab soalan ini, kita seharusnya bertanya kepada diri kita terlebih dahulu ‘SIAPA KITA?’. Siapa kita sebenarnya? Siapa kita di sisi ALLAH, Khaliq kita? Adakah kita sangat bagus di pandangan ALLAH? Siapa kita? Seorang anak? Seorang pelajar? Seorang guru? Seorang peguam? Seorang petani? Seorang doctor? Jawapan yang paling tepat ialah kita sebenarnya HAMBA ALLAH.. Hamba Allah yang telah diberikan kesempatan hidup untuk menikmati kehidupan yang sementara di dunia fana ini. Oleh kerana itu, kita sebagai hambaNYA semestinya perlu melaksanakan segala suruhan dan meninggalkan segala laranganNYA. Sebagai seorang hamba juga, kita mesti patuh, taat dan setia kepada pencipta iaitu ALLAH! Sesungguhnya Allah telah berkata di dalam kitabNYA (AL-QUR’AN) :
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
(الذاريات : 56)Dan tidak AKU jadikan Jin dan Manusia itu melainkan untuk beribadat kepadaku
Tidak lain dan tidak bukan, ALLAH telah menciptakan kita semata-mata untuk beribadat kepadaNYA..bukan untuk melupakanNYA atau hanya berharap dan memohon pertolongan di kala kesusahan sahaja..
Seterusnya, tanya soalan ini kepada kita : Di mana kita di hadapan ALLAH?
Di manakah sebenarnya kita di hadapan ALLAH? Apakah nilai kita di sisi ALLAH? Kita dapat memperolehi jawapannya jika kita menilai kembali nilai usaha kita untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Allah. Adakah kita sentiasa mendekatkan diri, akrab, rapat dengan ALLAH? Sejauh manakah usaha kita untuk mengenali Pencipta kita? Solat lima waktu yang telah difardhukan, adakah kita telah berjaya sempurnakannya? Atau, adakah kita lewat dalam melaksanakan segala perintah ALLAH? Solat-solat sunat bagaimana pula? Dan seharusnya perlu diingat, untuk dekat dengan ALLAH, kita semestinya terlebih dahulu perlu memulakannya. Ini kerana Allah lebih mengasihi hamba-hambaNYA yang memohon do’a dan pertolongan dengan hati yang ikhlas dan penuh mengharap. Sepertimana yang telah termaktub di dalam Al-Qur’anul Karim :
فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُواْ لِي وَلاَ تَكْفُرُونِ
(البقرة : 152)
Oleh itu ingatlah kamu kepadaKu (dengan mematuhi hukum dan undang-undangKu), supaya Aku membalas kamu dengan kebaikan; dan bersyukurlah kamu kepadaKu dan janganlah kamu kufur (akan nikmatKu).
Sebagai seorang hamba, sesungguhnya ALLAH telah menciptakan kita dengan sebaik-baik kejadian. Ini kerana, badan kita terdiri daripada 4 komponen asas iaitu :
1) Jasad
2) Roh
3) ‘Aqal
4) Nafsu
Kesemua komponen ini saling memerlukan dan saling melengkapi. Jika tiada salah satu di antaranya, maka akan rosaklah seorang insan itu.
Makanan Roh adalah Ibadat.
Makanan ‘Aqal adalah ‘Ilmu
Makanan jasad…anda semua pasti tahu.
Nafsu pula berkait dengan jasad. Jika makanan jasad baik,maka akan baiklah nafsu itu. Disebabkan itulah kita sentiasa diingatkan untuk makan makanan yang halal dan tidak makan terlalu banyak.
Misi hidup kita:
1) Beribadah kepada Allah.
2) Menjadi khalifah
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً قَالُواْ أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ الدِّمَاء وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ قَالَ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ
(البقرة :30)
Dan (ingatlah) ketika Tuhanmu berfirman kepada Malaikat; "Sesungguhnya Aku hendak menjadikan seorang khalifah di bumi". Mereka bertanya (tentang hikmat ketetapan Tuhan itu dengan berkata): "Adakah Engkau (Ya Tuhan kami) hendak menjadikan di bumi itu orang yang akan membuat bencana dan menumpahkan darah (berbunuh-bunuhan), padahal kami sentiasa bertasbih dengan memujiMu dan mensucikanMu?". Tuhan berfirman: "Sesungguhnya Aku mengetahui akan apa yang kamu tidak mengetahuinya".
Destinasi hidup kita:

NAKBAH
Assalamu'alaikum our dear brothers and sisters..
Sorry for a little bit late in updating this blog..got to setup many things for this blog =)
Here, we want to share about the NAKBAH. Do you all know what is NAKBAH?

Nakba is about a bad event on how our Muslim brother in Palestine have been molested by yahudi until today. This started in November2, 1917 when British use their veto power to agreed with yahudi about Balfour. Then, on 15 Mei 1948 Israel becomes a apart of the country on this earth, unfortunate Palestinians need to remove and have been neglected their nationality on Palestine . However, people of the world does not declare that country because of infringement made by Yahudi upon Palestinians right.
Time keep changing but they still suffer and that experience never died from their heart of every Palestinians. While people silent, they cried for help but nobody care to give a helping hand. Because of that experience they learned to be independent and we as Muslim must all the time praying for them and helping them with your own way. For example, from students’ context we need to strive to strengthen our community from ‘lagha’ things or boycott Israel products and so on.
Hadith has mentioned that from time to time there are always people who strive for Islam. Companions asked who they are, said Rasulullah saw:"they who live near Masjidil Aqsa.”
Palestine issue should be learned by other Muslim country that unbeliever like yahudi would forever jealous with us. Thus, before they come and do the bad things why not we start from ourselves then our personal institutions and finally our country to preach and convey the moral teaching from al-quran and sunnah to society as the whole.
Let us pray together for the safety of our brothers and sisters, not only in Palestine but all around the world. We also have to help them with our energy, even with the simplest effort from us.

A mother is a beautiful gift by Allah to a son/daughter..not only a son/daughter is a beautiful parents.Remember her love..Remember her patience..Remember her difficulties in growing you up..Remember her feelings when you hurted her heart..Remember her laughs and smile when you make she happy..Remember..Remember everyting about her..Remember everything about your mother..

FITNA is FITNAH towards Muslims
FITNA is FITNAH towards Muslims
Ma'ruf Club and its members condemn the controversional action by parliament member of Holland, Geert Wilders, for publishing the short film 'Fitna' which is clearly insulting the holiness of Islam. The background of the film indicates about the incident in the September 11, and Muslim warriors are portrayed reciting some verses from the Holy Qur'an.
Islam was sent down by Allah S.W.T through His prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H as a mercy for the entire universe. Allah said in the Holy Qur'an: "And We have sent you (Muhammad) not as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exist)" [Al-Anbiya':107]. There is no terrorism in Islamic teaching and it is prohibited in Islam. The concept of Jihad in Islam is not for fighting with non-Muslims without any reason or motive. It is actually depending on a certain situations and conditions that are approved by the Syariah.
Islam is the religion of peace and justice. Allah said: "And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you, but trangress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not transgressors" [Al-Baqarah:190]. This Ayah show us the truly concept of Jihad in Islam which is the Muslims should not start the fighting or creating the problems with non-Muslims but if they are attacked by their enemy, they need to defend themselves, their lands and their rights. Every nation in this world will do the same thing, right?
However, anti-Muslim movements are still trying to create and put negative images upon Muslims all around the world with the campaign of fighting agains world of terrorism. Who is the true terrorist? Are the Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine? Or the U.S troops, Britain military and the Zionist army? If their accusation is true that the Muslims are terrorists, why they fail to come out with stroong evidence to proof it? They failed to show strong evidence that is related to Muslims in tragedy of September 11.
Furthermore, according to a study by an American researcher, Jimmy Walter on the tragedy of September 11, through a documentary on title 'Confronting the Evidence' he did not find any evidence that the World Trade Center (WTC) were attacked by Muslims. Therefore, what have been done by Wilders through his short film 'Fitna' is clearly show that he try to hook the Muslims with the terrorism. As true Muslims, we must concern about the issue of the Ummah and unite together to face the problems among the Muslim's countries.
"And obey Allah and His Messenger and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lost courage and your strength departs, and be patient. Surely, Allah is with those who are As-Sabirun (the patient)" [Al-Anfal : 46]. Maybe the best way to show our protest is by boycotting the Dutch products for a while so that they can take serious action towards the Wielders. For sure, Fitna is a fitnah towards Muslims.

ACTIVITIES
Assalamu'alaikum to all..
Insyaallah,for this year ( 2009 ),maruf club will organize many program that will give you more benefit and more enjoyable..alhamdulillah,last tenure had organized many successfull programme for all students & members. The first programme was Rehlah to Sungai Pisang. Alhamdulliah, many new students joined this programme and it was a precious success to MA'RUF CLUB. This programme filled with many benefical activities. The objectives are to strengthen the brotherhood among members and new students, to share knowledge and also to appreciate the gift from ALLAH that we never can challenge- the beautiful scenery of river, also the forest.
Our memories:
During HUMANITARIAN WEEK, Ma'ruf Club also has took part under CENSERVE. Many booths opened to all students, which also to promote the clubs to all, including Ma'ruf Club. Alhamdulillah, many guests came to visit us and most of them registered to become the committee members of Ma'ruf Club, especially new students. Thanks to all visitors!! ^_^
Our memories :
The second programme was MA'AL HIJRAH celebration, in collaboration with SHAH'S MOSQUE. This programme was held on 17th January 2008. The programme started after Maghrib prayer and end around 11 pm. The celebration began with performance by nasyid group, INTEAM. Then, the talk began. The speakers are Ustaz Wan Sohor Bani Leman, a lecturer of CENFOS (Center for Foundation Study) and Ustaz Hamid Jusoh, a lecturer from AIKOL and also Encik Nazrey Johani (ex-RAIHAN, nasyid group). The talk was about the meaning of hijrah in Islam and the concept itself. Alhamdulillah, many students attend that programme and may Allah bless us. Ameen..
