Our banner, 'No dating' territory in Mass Media
THE International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) has become the first “no dating place” in the country.
A banner has been put up at its Gombak campus to warn the students from dating in the university compound.
The banner reads: “IIUM is an Islamic territory. No dating. Allah is watching us.”
It is placed at a square near some shops and a bank.
A visitor to the campus came across the banner and took a photograph of it.
According to a IIUM undergraduate, the banner was not an initiative by the university authorities.
“It was put up by Maaruf Club in conjunction with the Campus Dakwah Project during Ramadhan,” he said.
The club’s aims, among others, are to encourage students to perform the good, avoid the bad and to monitor the students’ moral conduct.

- Geezzz 2009-11-01 09:33:02Once again Malaysia has made the headlines and once again for all the wrong reasons. To allow a club to put up the banners is in a way sanctioning what the club does as nothing gets done without the approval of the university's authorities.
Is there no other way to encourage young adults to be more wary of their moral conduct or behaviour for that matter? Must everything be rules, rules and more outdated rules of "No you can't do this and no, you can't do that?".
Give it a thought ladies and gentlemen. Where are we heading today?

Alhamdulillah, that mean you know that dating and coupling is wrong, but you still doing it cause its fun. you just need a leap to think through on how bad hell would be..
Allah state rules in Al-Quran, but there are so many who ignores them. what ever law that man kind made to curb this is somehow breakable.
as human, what we can do is put an effort, we can say it by giving advice, we can do it by putting those banner or we can just pray to Allah by heart, it is part of Iman that we have.
have u ever think that that very banner may inspire other, even a single human being because someone make an effort?
some people may rebel, and show more bad attitude around that very banner, human with akal, should use them wisely, before its been taken, cause its not them to keep, it is Allah property.
we are all His.and we will return to Him.

I think this must me national agenda as well. Let's community be aware that 'sexual act without legal agreement (marriage)' is a harassment and considered as criminal. Each sexual act should be based not only love, but also some legal basis and fully responsible as to protect our girls, especially young generations who know nothing but 'wanna try' attitude!

- Td 2009-11-01 14:08:31I think that banner doesnt reflect the 'true' meaning of islam. Although the thought is good the approach isn't. I think putting such labels creates an unwanted impression of islam.
Overzealously banning without educating and awareness will bring more bad than good.

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيْد الْخُدْرِي رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُوْلُ : مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ مُنْكَراً فَلْيُغَيِّرْهُ بِيَدِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ وَذَلِكَ أَضْعَفُ اْلإِيْمَانِ

Terjemah hadits / ترجمة الحديث :
Dari Abu Sa’id Al Khudri radiallahuanhu berkata : Saya mendengar Rasulullah shollallohu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda : Siapa yang melihat kemunkaran maka rubahlah dengan tangannya, jika tidak mampu maka rubahlah dengan lisannya, jika tidak mampu maka (tolaklah) dengan hatinya dan hal tersebut adalah selemah-lemahnya iman.

- jannad 2009-11-01 22:45:04i agree with NH. at least, they did something to instill awareness among the students and IIUM family as well. what about us???
supposedly when we look upon the bunting we should feel ashamed with ourselves not belittle of the effort. in my opinion,when ppl look at the bunting, the will feel ashamed to date inside the campus..or the least that they can do is to avoid dating near the bunting. and with the awareness instilled within themselves, hopefully they will spread the awareness to their relatives and families. this is one of the ways we can do dakwah.

Satu Gambaran Pemuda/I Mengikut Kacamata Al-Qur’an, As-Sunnah dan Sejarah
Sebenarnya, kalau diperhati dengan teliti kita akan dapati bahawa pemuda/I merupakan asas yang utama dalam pembianaan setiap kerja. Nyatanya dalam Al-Qur’an sendiri menegaskan beberapa ayat yang khusus menyebut tentang pemuda anaranya :
نحن نقص عليك نبأهم بالحق إنهم فتية آمنوا بربهم و زناهم هدى
Maksudnya : “Kami ceritakan kepadamu (wahai Muhammad) perihal mereka dengan benar. sesungguhnya mereka itu orang-orang muda yang beriman kepada tuhan mereka, dan kami tambahai mereka dengan hidayah petunjuk.”
Manakala hadith pula terlalu banyak menyebut tentang pemuda antaranya :
حديث أبي هريرة رضى الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه سلم لو كان الدين عند الثريا لذهب به رجل من فارسس أو قال من أبناء فارس حتى يتناوله
Maksudnya : “Diriwayatkan daripada Abu Hurairah r.a katanya : Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda : Seandainya agama itu berada di bintang, nescaya salah seorang dari lelaki Parsi atau pemuda-pemuda Parsi akan pergi ke sana untuk mendapatkannya.”
حديث عن عبد الرحمن بن عوف رضى الله عنه قال : بينا أنا واقف في صف يوم بدر نظرت عن يميني وشمالي فإذا أنا بين غلامين من الأنصار حديثة أسنانهما تميت لو كنت بين أضلع منهما فغمزني أحدهما فقال يا عم هل تعرف أبا جهل قال قلت نعم وما حاجتك إليه يا ابن أخي قال أخبرت أنه يسب رسول الله صلى الله عليه سلم والذي نفسي بيده لئن رأيته لما يفارق سوادي سواده حتى يموت الأعجل منا قال فتعجبت لذلك فغمزني اللآخر فقال مثلها قال فلم أنشب أن نظرت إلى أبي جهل يزول في الناس فقلت ألا تريان هذا صاحبكما الذى تسألان عنه قال فابتدراه فضرباه بسيفهما حتى قتلاه ثم انصرفا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه سلم فأخبراه فقال أيكما قتله فقال كل واحد منهما أنا قتلت فقال هل مسحتما سيفكما قال لا فنظر في السيفين فقال كلاكما قتله وقضى بسلبه لمعاذ بن عمرو بن الجموح والرجلان معاذ بن عمرو بن الجموح ومعاذ بن عفراء
Maksudnya : “Diriwayatkan daripada Abd. Rahman Auf katanya : Ketika aku berdiri di tngah-tengah barisan semasa Perang Badar aku menoleh ke kanan dan ke kiriku, tiba-tiba aku terpandang dua orang pemuda Ansar yang masih remaja. Aku benar-benar berhasrat untuk bersama dengan mereka berdua. Salah seorang daripada mereka mengisyaratkan kepadaku dan bertanya kepadaku : Wahai pakcik! apakah pakcik kenal Abu Jahal? Aku menjawab “ Ya! Aku mengenalinya, kenapakah kamu menghajatinya wahai anak saudaraku? Lalu dia berkata : Aku pernah diberitahu bahawa Au Jahal pernah mencaci maki Rasulullah s.a.w. Demi zat yang jiwaku berada di dalam kekuasaanNya, sekiranya aku melihat Abu Jahal maka aku akan berlawan dengannya satu lawan satu sehingga terbukti siapa yang akan mati terlebih dahulu. AKu begitu kagum dengan tekad dan semangat anak muda tersebut. Kemudian pemuda yang seorang lagi pun berkata demikian juga kepadaku. Tidak berapa lama kemudian aku melihat ABu Jahal muncul dati kejauhan dan mundar-mandir di antara orang ramai. Aku katakan kepada dua orang pemuda itu : Bukankah sekarang kalian sudah melihat Abu Jahal. Itulah dia lawan yang kamu berdua tanyakan tadi. Lalu mereka mendekati Abu Jahal dan tanpa menunggu lebih lama lagi mereka menghunus pedang ke arah Abu jahal sehingga dia meninggal dunia pada waktu itu juga. Kemudian mereka berdua menemui Rasulullah s.a.w dan memberitahu kepada baginda. Rasulullah s.a.w lalu bertanya kepada mereka : Sebenarnya siapakan di antara kamu berdua yang telah membunuhnya? Mereka menjawab : Tidak! Selanjutnya Rasulullah s.a.w memeriksa pedang mereka. Setelah puas lalu baginda bersabda : Kamu berdua telah membunuhnya. Akhirnya Rasulullah s.a.w memutuskan bahawa harta orang yang terbunuh tersebut adalah untuk Mu’az bin Amru bin al-Jamuh. Dua orang pemuda tersebut bernama Mu’az bin al-Amru bin al-Jamuh dan Mu’az bin Afra’ ”
حديث أبو هريرة رضى الله عنه : عن النبي الله صلى الله عليه سلم قال سبعة يظلهم الله في يوم الظل إلا ظله الإمام العادل وشاب نشاء بعبادة الله ورجل قلبه معلق في المسجد ورجلان تحبان في الله اجتمعا عليه وتفرقا عليه ورجل دعته امرأة ذات منصب وجمال فقال إني أخاف الله ورجل تصدق بصدقة فأخفاها حتى لا تعلم يمينه ما تنفق شماله ورجل دكر الله خاليا ففاضت عيناه.
Maksudnya : “Diriwayatkan daripada Au Hurairah r.a katanya : Nabi s.a.w bersabda : Ada 7 golongan manusia yang akan dinaungi Allah di bawah naunganNya. Hari tersebut tidak ada naungan melainkan naunganNya. Golongan tersebut ialah Pemimpin yang adil, pemuda yang sentiasa beribadah kepada Allah semasa hidupnya, seorang yang hatinya sentiasa berpaut pada masjid-masjid iaitu sangat mencintainya dan selalu melakukan sembahyang berjemaah, dua orang yang saling mengasihi kerana Allah iaitu keduanya berkumpul dan berpisah kerana Allah, seorang lelaki yang diajak oleh seorang perempuan yang mempunyai kedudukan dan rupa paras yang elok untuk melakkan kejahatan tetapi dia berkata : Aku takutkan kepada Allah!, seorang yang memberi sedekah tetapi dia merahsiakannya seolah-olah tangan kanannya tidak tahu apa yang diberikan oleh tangan kirinya dan seseorang yang mengingati Allah di waktu sunyi sehingga mengalir air mata dari kedua matanya.
Begitu juga kalau diperhati dari sudut sejarah pemuda memain peranan yang penting dalam membangun sesuatu bangsa dan agama mereka. Kekuatan sesuatu bangsa sebenarnya secara jelasia sepenuhnya bergantung kepada keupayaan golongan pemuda/I dalam sesebuah negara tersebut. Sebagai contoh yang terdekat, gerakan reformasi yang berlaku di Indonesia digerakkan sepenuhnya oleh golongan muda, sehngga tumbang kerajaan yang begitu kukuh hampir 30 tahun memerintah negara tersebut.
Sebuah gerakan atau jemaah mempunyai sayap terkanan iaitu pemuda bagi membantu gerakan, jemaah atau pertubuhan tersebut deni berhadapan dengan ancaman dan serangan liar dari musuh.
Pendeknya, golongan muda berada di barisan hadapan di mana sahaja keadaan bagi memperkukuhkan dan menguatkan sesuatu negara, pertubuhan atau Jemaah.~ Let's Discover the Beauty of Islam ~

Lawatan Mahabbah UMK ke UIA
Gombak, Jumaat, 13/3/2009: Salam mahabbah buat sahabat-sahabat seperjuangan dari Universiti Malaysia Kelantan kerana sudi untuk bertandang ke teratak Taman Ilmu dan Budi ini. Pada 13 Mac yang lepas, pihak Maruf Club telah dikunjungi oleh sahabat-sahabt dari UMK yang telah membuat lawatan Mahabbah ke UIA.
Seramai 40 orang pelajar dari UMK dan seorang pegawai pengiring telah telah sampai kira-kira pada jam 5.00 pagi di UIA. Pelajar-pelajar tersebut dari Jawatankuasa Teman UMK. Beberapa agenda telah dijalankan bermula pada jam 9.00 pagi sehingga jam 10.30 malam.
Pelbagai aktiviti yang telah dijalankan dari pihak Kelab Ma'ruf dan juga beberapa perkongsian penting dalam melaksanakan dakwah Islam sebagai Mahasiswa telah dibincangkan. Aktiviti-aktiviti ini telah mendapat sambutan yang baik oleh pihak UMK dan beberapa solusi yang berjaya untuk dijalankan bersama sebagai seorang yang bergelar mahasiswa Islam. Semoga, lawatan ini, dapat mengeratkan lagi hubungan ukhwah antara dua univesiti. Wassalam.

Peristiwa Hari Ini: Hari Pembebasan di Kuwait (1991)
Adakah anda tahu pada tarikh hari ini (26 Februari) adalah Hari Pembebasan di Kuwait (1991). Pembebasan ini juga adalah berkaitan dengan perang Teluk. Semoga sedikit perkongsian ini dapat menambahkan lagi ilmu kita sebagai mahasiswa.
Perang Teluk atau Perang Teluk Parsi (2 Ogos 1990 – 28 Februari 1991) merupakan satu konflik ketenteraan di antara Iraq dengan Pasukan Bersekutu dan 34 buah negara-negara lain yang dibenarkan oleh Pertubuhan Bangsa Bersatu. Pasukan Bersekutu telah ditugaskan untuk mengusir pasukan tentera Iraq daripada Kuwait selepas perampasan dan pendudukan Iraq ke atas Kuwait pada Ogos 1990. Meskipun terdapat hampir tiga dozen negara-negara yang bergabung dalam tentera Pasukan Bersekutu, majoriti pasukan tentera disumbangkan oleh Amerika Syarikatdan United Kingdom.
Serangan ke atas Kuwait oleh pasukan tentera Iraq telah menyebabkan sekatan ekonomi dikenakan oleh beberapa anggota Majlis Keselamatan PBB, dengan Amerika Syarikat dan United Kingdom kemudian membuat persediaan untuk berperang. Pengusiran tentera Iraq dari Kuwait bermula pada Januari 1991 dengan kemenangan muktamad dicapai oleh Pasukan Bersekutu, yang telah berjaya mengambil alih Kuwait dan memasuki wilayah Iraq. Pertempuran udara dan darat telah berlaku dalam lingkungan wilayah Iraq, Kuwait dan kawasan sempadan Arab Saudi. Iraq juga telah melancarkan peluru berpandu ke Arab Saudi dan Israel sebagai pembalasan di atas sokongan mereka kepada Pasukan Bersekutu di Kuwait.
